- Swimming must be within 50 yards of shore and not at a depth of more than chest deep.
- It is forbidden to jump, dive or shark fish from piers.
- Vehicles are not permitted on beach.

- Alcohol is not permitted on beaches within the city limits of Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach or the Town of Surfside.
- Thong bathing suits are unlawful and wearers are
subject to fines.
- No littering or soliciting on the beach.
- Glass is not permitted on the beach.
- Fireworks are against the law within all city limits along Grand Strand.
- Damage or destruction of sea oats, beach grass and sand fencing is strictly forbidden.
- If there are handicapped ramps, check with the lifeguard
at that location for additional availability of beach wheelchairs.
- Call 911 for emergencies.
- Animals not permitted on beaches between 9am-5pm
May 15 - September 15.
- Animals must be on a leash at all times and owners must clean up after their pets.
- No sleeping on public beaches between 9pm and sunrise.
- North Myrtle Beach
- From 9am-5pm mid-May to mid-September, launching motorized watercraft from the beach is prohibited.
- All watercraft must be operated 100 yards from shore & 50 yards away from swimmers.
- Surfing is permitted ONLY at specific locations and 300 ft. from any pier. Mid-May to mid-Sept. between 9am & 4pm: Cherry Grove Pier; 13th Ave. South; 28th Ave. South, 38th Ave. South; 6th Ave. North. Surfers must wear surfboard leash at all times.
- Myrtle Beach
- All sailboats left on public beaches must be registered with Police Beach Patrol.
- No boating within 200 yards of the high tide mark.
- Jet skis are not permitted within 200 yards of the shore between mid-April and mid-Sept.
- Surfing and kayaking are permitted ONLY at specific locations from mid-March to mid-Sept. between 9am & 5pm: from south of Damon’s Restaurant to north of Spring Maid Pier; 39th Ave. N. to 47th Ave. N.; 62nd Ave. N. to 68th Ave. N. and 82nd Ave. N. to the north end of the city limits.
- Surfside Beach
- Jet skis must remain at least 300 ft. from shore and 300 ft. from the pier.
- Surfing is permitted from 9am-5pm ONLY in the area between 270 ft. south of 12th Ave. North and 14th Ave. North; as well as from 300 ft. north of 13th Ave. S. to the South town limits.
